Passenger Information/Help Points

Secure Vision have installed a number of different types of Help Points Systems, including purpose made bracketry and telephone systems to answer help point enquiries

Help PointIn years gone by these have been the brushed steel, single button type units that were basically vandal resistant telephones with communication over a standard type BT telephone line.

Today we are installing high quality units which can have either one or two buttons as well as fire break glass units. We can install units that have small in built TFT screens.

Today's units include:

  • High Quality Speech Bandwidth
  • Robust Metal Construction
  • Vandal and Weather Resistant
  • Push buttons Comply with DDA recommendations
  • Automatically adjustable microphone signal to suppress background noise.
  • Self Monitoring for Faults such as:
    • Monitoring of the cables for open and short circuit
    • Health check of the Help Point electronic circuitry
    • Monitoring of the loudspeaker and microphone to confirm sound quality and volume
  • Complete with Audio Frequency Induction Loop

Help PointThe installation of the help points has a number of considerations to meet legislation for the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) which enforces the height and accessibility of help point units.

These guidelines are incorporated within network rail Disabled Peoples Protection Policy (DPPP) issue 3 and London Underground Premises Standards.

To meet with these standards, units are installed at 1.2 metres and can be either wall or post mounted.
